He is the Gift
This beautiful Shawna Edwards song touched my heart the moment I heard it! It's a tough one to teach to kids, I'm not gonna lie, but my kids thought it was beautiful and they were excited to learn! So...yeah. I decided at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday to do this song and threw together these images for it to teach it. You can download them below. If you want the Silhouette, files, please let me know. You can find the music for this song here.
I started by saying I was going to give a few kids a gift. I handed out the gift images for the 1st verse. Then I told them I was going to play the song, and those kids who had a gift should look for what line their image is probably referring to. We went through it twice; the second time they held it up when their line came. Then we put them on the board (I used ticky tack) as we learned the first verse. I found it helped to put them up higher or lower alternating, since each line either starts on a high note or a low note.
Then we went through the chorus with the star. That's as far as we got! We'll be learning verse two next week!
