The Iron Rod
I wanted to teach the Iron Rod, but this time I wanted to avoid flip charts and even my usual method of movable printed pieces. So I created this. I started with a picture of Nephi--just print the top and bottom half and them tape them together. As we learned the song, we kept adding stuff to it. So when we taught "To Nephi, seer of olden time" we added the glasses because he's a seer. You can download all the pictures I created and print them. I did Nephi on cardstock but the rest are on regular paper and it worked fine. I only did verses 1,2, and 5.
The way I taught it, I put Nephi up on the board (I just used Photoshop to add a lower half to his body, using the artwork originally from here. Then I put all the pieces on the table. As I taught each line, I'd call a child up to decide which picture fit the line, and then they got to put it on Nephi. It was a big hit! |
