Primary Battleship
Ok, I'm not going to claim that I'm the first to think of playing Battleship, and I had done it in the past. But it was a lot of work and was just ok. Then when I got up this morning at 8:30 and two hours before church and had planned nothing (sometimes that's just the way I roll) I pulled out my old Battleship stuff and looked at it again. And I thought of a much simpler way to play it. It was SO much fun! The kids got really involved and sang better than I've heard in a long, long time. I know it doesn't look very much like a battleship--I took that part out since it gave the kids clues as to where the next battleship would be. I just left the circular smoke stacks so they would have less idea where to look next!
I have a full step by step file that will give more details here:

But basically the gist is that you use the portable chalkboard (you don't have to but it's fun this way) and place it between the two teams. The teams get decide where to put their battle ships--which I think really contributed to the excitement. I put one on the bulletin side and one on the chalk board side. Then I had a teacher flip it back and forth depending on whose turn it was. They could pick one of the squares. If it has nothing before it, they get a bomb card on the board. If they got one of the battleships, then we all sing that verse or that song. The team with the fewest bomb cards wins.
You can play this game without doing much but cutting out paper, but if you want the bombs and the colored circles I made, here are the files:
